 More than 50 REALTORS® walked with the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® team for the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon. |
More than 50 volunteers from the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® (GCAAR) teamed up for the 19th annual Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon on Saturday, November 18 on the National Mall. GCAAR was once again a Gold Sponsor ($10,000) of the event as members walked to raise money for the association's two designee organizations, Montgomery Housing Partnership, a non-profit group working to develop affordable rental housing in Montgomery County, and Bright Beginnings, a child and family development center in Washington, DC.
The event was the latest for GCAAR Cares, the association's community service group dedicated to projects which assist and promote housing-related charities in Montgomery County and Washington, DC. GCAAR Cares has worked with Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity, Housing and Community Initiatives, Partnership for Housing Foundations, and the Montgomery Housing Partnership, in addition to its annual participation in the Help the Homeless Walkathon.
REALTORS® from many local companies were in attendance, including members from Long & Foster Real Estate, Prudential Carruthers, Gerlach Real Estate, RE/MAX, and Weichert REALTORS®.
