The Washington, DC Association of REALTORS® (WDCAR) kicked-off a four-month public awareness campaign, "REALTORS® Make a Difference," on September 1. The campaign showcases how REALTORS® in Washington, DC help improve the quality of life in our communities, as well as uncover affordable housing opportunities for their clients.
The campaign Web site, www.realtorsmakeadifference.org, targets REALTORS®, prospective homeowners with low to middle incomes and the media. The Web site contains the following sections:
- Resources (definitions of "affordable housing" and "affordability" and links to affordable housing organizations, housing/financial assistance programs and other valuable resources)
- FAQs (FAQs from/regarding: District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency, HUD Homebuying, Section 8 and WDCAR REALTORS®' clients)
- Affordable Housing Database (statistics about affordable housing opportunities within the District; a complete database of the units is coming soon)
- Community Service Data (WDCAR member contributions to the District)
- Profiles (profiles of WDCAR members who have contributed to solving the affordable housing issue and who regularly perform community service)
- Publications/Handouts (helpful publications from DC DHCD, DC HFA and HUD)
- Newsroom (news releases; "REALTORS® Make a Difference" campaign in the news; affordable housing and community service in the news)
- Contact Us (ways in which REALTORS®, the public and the media can contact WDCAR)
